Dr. Katy Parker is actively working to start a program in a small town in Georgia and is experiencing push back from neighbors who have no context for her work or expertise. Dr. Parker and I talk about NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) and the ways that assumptions and stigma stand in the way of treatment for those with mental illness.
